The Zamfara chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) attributed the absence of nationwide protests in the north-western state to the effective governance of Governor Dauda Lawal. Acting Chairman Mukhtar Lugga conveyed this during a press briefing in Gusau, assessing the protests that have turned violent and led to looting in neighboring states.

"Residents of Zamfara are content with the state administration and its achievements," Lugga stated. "The government has launched numerous beneficial programs and policies, declared a state of emergency on education and health, and cleared outstanding gratuities."

Lugga highlighted the government's efforts in infrastructure, including road construction and reconstruction, renovation and equipping of schools and hospitals, and agricultural interventions.

He acknowledged the prevailing hardships but expressed confidence in President Bola Tinubu's initiatives to address the country's socioeconomic challenges.

"In addition to the state government's efforts, we continue to pray for the president's success in revitalizing the economy. Hardships are widespread, but all levels of government are taking steps to mitigate the situation," he added.

Lugga urged the citizens to remain law-abiding and pray for their leaders to successfully navigate the nation's challenges.

Gusau and other towns in Zamfara remained peaceful, with no protests occurring on Friday, the second day of the planned activities expected to continue until August 10.
