Bloggers Lied About My EFCC Arrest – Comedian Pankeeroy

Instagram comedian and social media influencer Nwagbo Oliver Chidera well known as Pankeeroy has said that the news spread by bloggers about his arrest is a lie.

Recall that the news of comedian Pankeeroy’s arrest for internet fraud by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) went viral a few weeks ago.

The comedian was arrested by the operatives of the Lagos Zonal Office of the Commission together with 34 others over alleged involvement in computer-related fraud.

According to reports, some items seized from the comedian included a Mercedes Benz car worth N36 million and N22,300,000 worth of Bitcoin in his account.

Reports also state that Pankeeroy went into a Bitcoin scam after he suffered depression using a particular website to defraud his victims.

Also, other items seized were exotic cars, iPhones, laptop computers, and Android devices.

However, at a press briefing in Lagos on Tuesday, the comedian, with his lawyer ad manager has debunked all reports of his arrest and other information published about him..

You cannot even say there was an arrest because no warrant of arrest was presented.

It was not as if a warrant was issued for his arrest. He was just arrested in the midst of other people, possibly on a tip-off.

He was just unfortunate to be at the wrong place at the wrong time.

The lawyer interceded again, “It was just a coincidence he was at that place at that time.

Everyone arrested was granted bail upon which investigation goes on. We are to appear at the EFCC office once every two weeks. As of now, there is no charge.

We cannot categorically say what he was arrested for because it has not been made clear at this moment.”
