Man Goes On 280-mile Walk Over Seven Days Just To Cool Off After Hot Argument With His Wife
In the process of his stressful journey, he was picked up by police for breaking COVID-19 curfew imposed by the government.
The unnamed man was found after walking from Como in the north of Italy to Fano on the Adriatic coast, trekking around 40 miles per day.
Police stopped him at around 2am, because he was not at home, a law for all citizens between the hours of 10pm until 5am across Italy, to try and prevent the spread of Covid-19.
They found out his wife had already reported him missing when he did not return to their home after the argument. He was fined £365 (€400) for breaching the restrictions.
According to Il Resto del Carlino newspaper in Italy the man said that people he met along the way had offered him food and drink.
He told the newspaper: ‘I’m fine, just a little tired.’
