Former Jigawa State governor Abubakar expressed his sympathies to the state administration and the families of those who lost loved ones to the flood on Saturday by releasing the figure. He reported that the calamity had an impact on approximately 11,500 houses, 50,000 persons, and 148 localities spread throughout 14 local government districts.
He stated, "More than 148 communities were impacted." While visiting Governor Umar Namadi in Dutse, the state capital, he stated, "7,500 households were affected, over 50,000 people were affected, and about 11,500 farmlands were also affected while we lost 33 indigenes of the state as a result of this affliction."
