IK Ogbonna Calls Out CAN Over 'Fake Miracles' Amid aChosen Trend
IK Ogbonna calls out CAN and urges regulation of fake miracles in churches, following a viral video of controversial testimonies from The Lord’s Chosen Ministries.
Nollywood actor IK Ogbonna has taken a strong stand against the rising trend of "fake miracles" in certain churches, calling out the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) to take action. In a heartfelt Instagram post, Ogbonna expressed his dismay over pastors using God’s name to deceive vulnerable believers, turning faith into a spectacle for personal gain.
"It’s devastating to see pastors staging miracles to exploit people," he wrote. "This dishonesty tarnishes the true essence of Christianity, turning sacred belief into a tool for manipulation. The result? Shattered trust, broken lives, and faith distorted for profit."
Ogbonna emphasized that using God’s name in vain is a betrayal of the gospel and urged Christians not to fall for social media trends that mock their faith. He also called on the government and CAN to regulate these deceptive practices and hold those responsible accountable.
His remarks come after a viral video from The Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries, where a woman claimed to have miraculously overpowered armed robbers by declaring "I’m a chosen." Other strange testimonies, including one about a lion saving a man from kidnappers, have fueled debate online.
Ogbonna’s message serves as a passionate plea to protect the integrity of Christianity from exploitation and fraud, reminding believers that true faith should never be a means for personal gain or social media fame.
