Raul Grijalva, a Democrat and congressman in Arizona has currently gone into isolation after shocking testing positive to the deadly Covid19 global pandemic.
Despite the result of the tests, the 72-year-old congressman claims that he is currently showing no symptoms and that he feels absolutely fine.
Earlier this week, Raul Grijalva was present at a public hearing attended by other congressmen of which Texas Republican Louie Gohmert who is also currently positive to the COVID19 pandemic was present.
Raul Grijalva expressed his disgust at lawmakers who intentionally refuse to follow the directives about the use of facemasks to reduce the spread of the COVID19 pandemic.
In a statement, Raul Grijalva stated that: “While I cannot blame anyone directly for this, this week has shown that there are some Members of Congress who fail to take this crisis seriously,” he said. “Numerous Republican members routinely strut around the Capitol without a mask to selfishly make a political statement at the expense of their colleagues, staff, and their families.”
In the United States of America, a total of twelve members of Congress are now known to have contracted the virus, namely; Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., and Reps. Morgan Griffith, R-Va., Tom Rice, R-S.C., Neal Dunn, R-Fla., Nydia Velázquez, D-N.Y., Mike Kelly, R-Pa., Joe Cunningham, D-S.C., Seth Moulton, D-Mass., Mario Diaz-Balart, R-Fla. and Ben McAdams, D-Utah.
