Chelsea in talks to sign Victor Osimhen on a Loan deal
Victor Osimhen and Romelu Lukaku are being discussed by Chelsea and Napoli, as David Ornstein reports.
Victor Osimhen is apparently the subject of recent inquiries from Arsenal as he waits to leave Napoli. This summer, Osimhen, 25, has missed all three of their preseason matches.
The Nigerian international, nevertheless, continued to practice with the team, albeit apart, and watched the games. It's clear that the player is prepared to go despite that.
Earlier this month, talks between Napoli and Paris Saint-Germain appeared to be at a standstill, which has created a window of opportunity for other teams.
Osimhen is reportedly the subject of a long-term interest from Chelsea, but the Gunners are rumored to have renegotiated his contract with his club.
The 25-year-old Victor Osimhen has long been mentioned as a potential Chelsea target. With 76 goals in 133 games for Napoli, the center-forward is undoubtedly a desirable option.
According to a recent report, Chelsea is still interested in signing Osimhen, but they acknowledge that Paris Saint-Germain is leading them in the summer transfer market.
Tuesday has seen the emergence of intriguing new reports regarding the Blues' endeavors to acquire the highly productive Serie A center-forward for Stamford Bridge. But it seems like there are a lot of challenges to be solved before a deal can be made.
The Premier League's top team had been linked to the Nigerian for months, but they withdrew their interest earlier this summer because of worries about his price. Osimhen, who earns enormous salaries in Naples and has a release clause worth between €120 million and €130 million, is a valuable asset.
The Belgian striker Lukaku would permanently join Napoli as a result of the planned transfer. The two teams are now in negotiations to come to a contract that will see both players take on a new challenge in 2024–25.
In contrast, Osimhen's possible move to Chelsea is structured as a loan with an option to buy.
Lukaku is anticipated to resume his individual training at Chelsea's Cobham training facility the following week. However, the Blues are eager to settle Lukaku's transfer issue before their team departs for the US on August 7 for their preseason tour.
