Yesterday, the United States President, President Donald Trump, in his address to the people of the United States from the White House, made it clear that He is instructing his administration to halt funding to the World Health Organisation (WHO).

He continued that the United States is reviewing the role of the World Health Organization in mismanaging and covering up the spread of the coronavirus. He later made comparison to the USA and China contribution to the WHO – USA contribute $400 million to $500 million per year whiles China contribute $40 million or less per year.

Meanwhile, today, Bill Gates objects to President Trump over this decision. He made a statement on his twitter handle. He wrote “Halting funding for the World Health Organization during a world health crisis is as dangerous as it sounds. Their work is slowing the spread of COVID-19 and if that work is stopped no other organization can replace them. The world needs WHO now more than ever.”
