Actor Terrence Jenkins was allegedly the victim of an attempted follow-home robbery where his car was shot at as he escaped from perpetrators.
Terrence Jenkins better known as Terrence J, is an American actor, model and entertainment reporter best known as the host of BET’s popular music video countdown show 106 & Park from 2006 until 2012.
Law Enforcement says Terrence, aka Terrence J, was returning to his Sherman Oaks at 3am on Wednesday when when another an SUV pulled up with 4 Black men inside, one of whom ordered Terrence out of his car.
Police say one of the alleged perpetrators ordered Jenkins, 39, out of the vehicle at gunpoint, however he ended up being able to flee in his car. The Think Like A Man actor was then followed by the suspects, and at least one of the alleged perpetrators fired shots at his car.
The former BET host flagged down a California Highway Patrol Car, who alerted the LAPD to the situation. There have been no injuries reported.
The suspects have been described as four Black men whom were all wearing black and driving a silver Jeep Cherokee. A ‘follow-home robbery’ is a crime in which victims leaving upscale restaurants are targeted and ‘followed home to be robbed by a crew of criminals,’ according to Fox LA.
LAPD Sgt. Hector Olivera said after assisting in clearing the actor’s home;
‘People need to be aware of the surroundings, especially leaving nightclubs, restaurants and what have you.’
‘It seems that the suspects are targeting individuals that either have expensive jewelry, expensive cars, and things of that nature.’
The cops took a report for assault with a deadly weapon with shots fired and police are investigating.
