Kanye West dedicates Sunday Service to Astroworld victims following tragedy that left eight people dead
Kanye West dedicates his Sunday Service to the victims in Friday’s tragedy in Houston in which eight people died at the Astroworld music festival Houston.
West, 44, was not seen at the service, but prior to the stream, a message was posted that read,
‘Sunday Service dedication to the loved ones of Astroworld.’
The Sunday Service was held in a dimly-lit building with the choir donning black ensembles and performing a series of hymns.
The look and tone differed heavily from last week’s service, which was held outdoors and saw attendees don white ensembles.
The somber service came as officials on Sunday continued to probe the incident, which occurred as concertgoers were crushed as Scott performed his set on the stage.
The ages of the people who died at the show ranged from 14 to 27, according to the AP, as authorities in Houston have not yet released the names of the victims or their causes of death.
In the aftermath, mourners left flowers candles, noted and other mementoes in a memorial display outside of NRG Park, where the show was held.
