APC Suspends Governor Fayemi From Party
The Governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi, has been suspended by the State Executive Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
This was confirmed in a statement signed by eight members of the executive committee on Friday.
They are: Senator Tony Adeniyi, Senator Babafemi Ojudu, Senator Dayo Adeyeye, Congressman Bimbo Daramola, Hon Robinson Ajiboye, Hon Oye Ojo, Hon (Dr) Adewale Omirin and Hon Femi Adeleye.
According to the statement, Fayemi was suspended due to “his numerous anti-party activities, especially his role in the just concluded governorship election in Edo State which is contrary to the provisions of Article 21 (A) (ii) of the APC Constitution.”
The party claims that Fayemi hosted a bigwig of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Femi Fani-Kayode, five days before the Edo Election, during which they planned a coup against Edo APC.
It added that, ”Five days prior to the Edo elections, Governor Fayemi hosted Mr Femi Fani- Kayode in the government house in Ado Ekiti. It was here they perfected the coup against our party in Edo State.
“This is same Fani-Kayode who daily abuses President Muhammadu Buhari, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo. We have evidence of celebration by his aides in Ekiti government house and on social media.”
Another allegation leveled against Governor Fayemi, is that he played a role in the gubernatorial election in Oyo State and supported the PDP candidate to defeat the APC candidate.
